Your data & backups

Where is my data stored?

On your device, synced privately through your own iCloud. There is no SteerLog account and no SteerLog server — nothing leaves your Apple ecosystem unless you export it yourself.

How do I back up?

Three ways, all free:

• iCloud sync — automatic whenever you're signed into iCloud. Nothing to configure.
• Backup file — Settings ▸ Backup & Sync ▸ Export Backup File. Keep it in Files, iCloud Drive, or email it to yourself.
• CSV / PDF export — a spreadsheet or clean PDF of any car's history, any time.

New phone?

Install SteerLog and sign into the same iCloud — your garage comes back automatically. Or tap "Coming back? Restore your data" on the welcome screen to restore from a backup file.

Sync isn't working?

Check that both devices are signed into the same Apple Account and that iCloud Drive is on (Settings ▸ your name ▸ iCloud). Sync can take a minute after changes; opening the app foregrounds it. Still stuck? Email me — include what you see on each device.

Purchases

What does Pro include?

One car is free with every feature. Steerlog Pro is a one-time $19.99 purchase — not a subscription — that adds unlimited vehicles, Insights (forecasts and breakdowns), photo receipts, and maintenance schedule presets.

Restore a purchase?

Settings ▸ Purchases ▸ Restore Purchases. The unlock is tied to your Apple Account, so it follows you to any new device at no charge. Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.

Reminders & widget

Reminders aren't firing?

Reminders are local notifications — check Settings ▸ Notifications ▸ SteerLog is allowed. Mileage-based reminders need an up-to-date odometer: logging any entry updates it.

The widget shows nothing?

The widget counts down to your next service reminder — add a reminder first (bell icon on Home), then add the widget from the home-screen widget gallery.
