Privacy Policy
Effective: July 18, 2026 · The short version: SteerLog collects no data about you. None.
What we collect
Nothing. SteerLog has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no servers. We never see your vehicles, your service records, your photos, or anything else you enter. On the App Store, SteerLog's privacy label reads Data Not Collected.
Where your data lives
Everything you enter is stored on your device — including the glovebox: your VIN, plate, insurer, policy number, and any photos you take of your insurance card or registration. Those are sensitive documents, so it is worth being explicit: they are treated exactly like the rest of your log — never uploaded to us, never seen by us. If you're signed into iCloud, your data also syncs to your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit and iCloud key-value storage — private storage that belongs to your Apple ID. Only you and Apple's infrastructure touch it; the developer has no access to it whatsoever.
Purchases
The optional Steerlog Pro unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction.
Notifications
Service reminders use local notifications scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent to any server.
Exported files
Backup, CSV, and PDF files you export are created on your device and go only where you choose to send them.
This website
steerlog.app is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. The free calculators run entirely in your browser — the numbers you type are never transmitted or stored. Standard, anonymous server logs may exist at our hosting provider (Vercel) as with any website.
Children
SteerLog collects no data from anyone, including children.
Guidance and reminders — not advice
SteerLog's maintenance intervals, statutory presets, and reminders — including inspection, road tax, insurance, and registration dates that differ by country — are provided for your convenience as general guidance only. They may be incomplete or out of date, and may not apply to your specific vehicle, model year, or region. They are not legal, safety, tax, or professional advice. Always confirm deadlines and requirements with your own official renewal notices and the relevant authorities. You are responsible for your vehicle's servicing and legal compliance, and to the fullest extent permitted by law SteerLog and its maker are not liable for any missed deadline, penalty, fine, or loss arising from reliance on this guidance.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Given the app's design — no data collection — meaningful changes are unlikely.
