Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone, and — if you're signed into iCloud — in your own private iCloud, which belongs to your Apple Account and is technically inaccessible to us. SteerLog has no accounts, no analytics, and no company server that could lose your records.
What's free and what's Pro?
One car is free, with everything that keeps the record: full history, fuel and EV charging, reminders, widget, charts, iCloud sync, backup, and CSV/PDF export. Pro is a one-time unlock — priced on the App Store, never a subscription — that adds every car you own, two-car comparison, per-car units and currency, Insights and forecast (including EV cost and efficiency), statutory and service presets for your country, photo receipts with the on-device receipt reader, and the glovebox with its dossier PDF. That's the whole price list.
Does it work for electric and hybrid cars?
Yes. Log a charging session — kWh, start and end percentage — as easily as a fill-up; a hybrid logs both. Presets know an electric car has no oil to change, and Pro Insights add charging cost and efficiency over time.
Which countries are covered?
Statutory presets — inspection, road tax, insurance, registration — cover 28 markets with their local names and intervals, and the app speaks 35 languages with local units and currency. Anywhere else you still get the service presets and can add your own dates. Presets are guidance, not legal advice — always confirm with your official notices.
New phone — do I pay again?
No. The Pro unlock is tied to your Apple Account: tap Restore Purchases on the new phone. Your garage follows automatically through your iCloud, or restore from a backup file on the welcome screen.
Can I get my records out?
Yes, always, and for free: export any car's history as CSV or PDF, or write a full backup file you can keep in Files, iCloud Drive, or email. Export is free on day one — your history is never held hostage.
What is the best app to keep track of car maintenance?
The best car maintenance app is the one whose records survive: it should log a service in seconds, remind you by both date and mileage, work without an account, and export your full history. SteerLog does all four, with your data on your phone and your own iCloud — not a company server.
How often should you change your oil?
