Never miss an oil change

Set a reminder once and SteerLog watches both clocks: the calendar and the odometer. "Oil & filter change — in 12 days · in 800 mi" sits at the top of your home screen and on a widget, and lands on your lock screen before it's overdue.

Whichever comes first wins — exactly how service intervals actually work.

Service, fuel, or expense — odometer, cost, notes, done. Fill-ups compute your real fuel economy automatically, in MPG or L/100km, any currency.

No forms that fight you. The fastest entry wins, because the log you actually keep is the only log that matters — and every entry lands in one searchable history.

SteerLog history: a long list of logged fuel-ups, rotations, and services, each with date, odometer, and cost.

See what your car really costs

Monthly spend, cost per mile, fuel economy over time — charts built from your own entries, not estimates. Know whether the old car is worth keeping before the next repair decides for you.

Pro adds Insights: cost forecasts, year-over-year, and spending breakdowns.

Year eightNew phone, same garage

A history that survives anything

Apps shut down, companies get acquired, servers get turned off — and a decade of service records goes with them. SteerLog is built so that can't happen to yours.

Your own iCloud

Private sync through your personal iCloud — no account to create, and technically invisible to us. New phone, same garage, automatically.

Backup files

One tap writes a backup file you can keep anywhere — Files, iCloud Drive, email to yourself — and restore on any device.

CSV & PDF out, free

Export any car's full history as a spreadsheet or a clean PDF — for your mechanic, the next owner, or just because it's yours. Free, forever.

Year after yearOne person

A one-person business

Hi — I'm Shakti. I built SteerLog because I was tired of car apps that lose people's records: the subscription lapses, the company folds, and ten years of service history evaporates.

SteerLog has no investors, no growth team, and no ads to sell. One car is free forever, Pro is one purchase, and I never see your data. That's the whole business model: build the log people keep, charge once, keep it working.

Fair questions

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone, and — if you're signed into iCloud — in your own private iCloud, which belongs to your Apple Account and is technically inaccessible to us. SteerLog has no accounts, no analytics, and no company server that could lose your records.

What's free and what's Pro?

One car is free with every feature: full history, reminders, widget, charts, iCloud sync, backup, and CSV/PDF export. Pro is a one-time $19.99 unlock that adds unlimited vehicles, Insights, photo receipts, and maintenance schedule presets. That's the whole price list.

New phone — do I pay again?

No. The Pro unlock is tied to your Apple Account: tap Restore Purchases on the new phone. Your garage follows automatically through your iCloud, or restore from a backup file on the welcome screen.

Can I get my records out?

Yes, always, and for free: export any car's history as CSV or PDF, or write a full backup file you can keep in Files, iCloud Drive, or email. Export is free on day one — your history is never held hostage.

What is the best app to keep track of car maintenance?

The best car maintenance app is the one whose records survive: it should log a service in seconds, remind you by both date and mileage, work without an account, and export your full history. SteerLog does all four, with your data on your phone and your own iCloud — not a company server.

How often should you change your oil?

Most modern cars on full synthetic oil go 7,500–10,000 miles between changes; conventional oil is closer to 3,000–5,000 miles. Short trips, towing, and dusty roads shorten the interval. Your owner's manual is the authority — our free oil change interval calculator gives you a starting point.
